About the Cover

In 1880, the first San Diego County Fair was organized to bring
area farmers together to share ideas and hold competitions.
Since then the fair has been held almost every year and its
permanent home in Del Mar was opened in 1936. The fair is
now one of the largest in the United States with an average
daily attendance over 54,000 people. You’ll learn how to
compute averages and find other statistical measurements
in Chapter 9.
